Terms and conditions

Version 1.2 · Last updated:

  • 18 games and lessons are free forever, with no ads. The parent account is optional.
  • Premium unlocks all 500 games and lessons, plus those added later: with a monthly subscription of 25.99 lei / €4.79 or with a single lifetime payment of 159.99 lei / €29.99. The final price is the one Google Play shows in your currency.
  • New subscribers get the first 7 days free. After that, the subscription costs 25.99 lei / €4.79 per month and renews automatically until you cancel it in Google Play. If you cancel before the end of the free trial, you pay nothing.
  • “Lifetime” means no further payments, on the Google account you bought it with. If we ever discontinue the app, we will tell you at least 12 months in advance.
  • Payments, cancellation and refunds go through Google Play, under Google Play's rules. You can write to us at any time at contact@getlulla.app.

Who we are

The Lulla Kids app and the Lulla Kids section of the getlulla.app website (getlulla.app/kids) are provided by Lulla App (“we”), based in Romania, which also publishes Lulla, the baby sleep app.

These terms are the contract between you and Lulla App for using the app, for Premium purchases and for the site. For the free games, they apply when you use the app. For Premium, the contract is concluded when you confirm payment in the Google Play window. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the app and do not buy Premium.

The full text of the terms is always on this page. In the app, the Terms link on the Premium screen opens a short summary of the purchase conditions. If the summary and these terms were to say different things, the version more favourable to you applies.

The contract can be concluded in any of the languages in which these terms are available: Romanian, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Hungarian, Portuguese, Japanese or Polish. We do not keep a separate copy of the contract for you: the version of the terms in force is always on this page, with its date, and the order confirmation is sent to you by Google Play, by email. Before you confirm payment, you see the product and the price in the Google Play window, and you can close it to choose another plan.

How we handle data is explained separately, in the privacy policy.

Definitions

  • “The app”: Lulla Kids, the Android app distributed through Google Play (package com.toddlerdreams.lullakids).
  • “The site”: the Lulla Kids section of getlulla.app (getlulla.app/kids).
  • “You”: the adult (a person who has reached the age of majority) who installs the app for the child, usually the child's parent or guardian, and who, where applicable, makes the purchases in it.
  • “The free games”: the 18 games and lessons you can use without paying.
  • “Premium”: access to all the games and lessons in the app, obtained through the monthly subscription or through Lifetime Premium.
  • “The monthly subscription”: Premium paid monthly, with automatic renewal.
  • “Lifetime Premium”: Premium obtained through a single payment, without a subscription.
  • “The grown-ups' area”: the part of the app protected by a question for adults.
  • “Google Play”: Google's app store, through which the app is downloaded and payments are made.

The app

Lulla Kids has 500 games and lessons for children aged 1–6, divided into 13 worlds, with the 50 Lulla friends. The difficulty adapts to the age you choose.

  • Android only. The app is installed from Google Play. There is no iPhone version.
  • Requirements. A device running Android 8.0 or newer, with Google Play, and a text-to-speech engine, so that the narrator can read the instructions.
  • No ads, optional account, works offline. The app has no ads, and the games work without the internet. The parent account is optional (see The parent account); without it, your child's profile and progress stay on the phone.
  • The narrator's voice. The instructions are read by the text-to-speech engine chosen in the phone's settings, so the voice and its quality depend on the phone. The child's name is spoken only if the active voice works directly on the phone, without the internet; if the voice needs the internet, the app says a general phrase instead of the name. The voice engine is a separate component of the phone: if it uses the internet, it does so itself, under its provider's rules (see The narrator's voice).
  • Languages. The app is available in 4 languages: Romanian, English, Spanish (Latin America) and Portuguese (Brazil). You change the language in the app.
  • Without an account, we do not have a copy of the data. Without an account, the app sends us nothing. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, the profile and progress are deleted from the phone, and we cannot recover them; with an account, you bring them back from it. Your child's profile is not included in Android backup or in the transfer to a new phone. Progress (without the child's name) may be included in Android's automatic backup, if it is turned on on the phone, and Android may restore it when you reinstall the app with the same Google account. Details in the privacy policy.

Purchases and their verification go through the Google Play app on the phone. On a phone on which Premium was bought, the app also sends the purchase details to RevenueCat, the service that keeps our subscription records (see the privacy policy). Downloading the app and payments are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

What data stays on the phone and what happens to it is explained in the privacy policy.

The parent account

Every game works without an account. The account is a free, optional service for the parent: it keeps a copy of the progress, settings and your child's plan, so that you can bring them to another phone, after a reinstall or to the other parent's phone.

  • Adults only. The account is created by an adult (18 or over), with an email and password or with a Google account. Children do not create accounts.
  • Your password. Keep it to yourself. If you think someone else knows it, change it or write to us.
  • Emails. We write to you about the account (confirming the address, changing the password). You receive emails with ideas, news and offers only if you ticked the box, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Premium is not tied to the account. It belongs to the Google Play account you bought it with (see Free and Premium).
  • Deletion. You can delete the account at any time, in the app (For grown-ups › Your account › Delete account) or as described on the account deletion page. Deleting it does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
  • If we stop the account service, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance; the progress on the phone stays, and the copies in the accounts are deleted.

What data the account keeps and where: the privacy policy.

Free and Premium

18 games and lessons are free forever, that is, for as long as the app is offered. You do not need to buy anything to use them.

Premium unlocks all 500 games and lessons, plus the games we add later, at no extra cost. You can get it in two ways:

  • the monthly subscription: 25.99 lei / €4.79 per month, with the first 7 days free for new subscribers; it renews automatically until you cancel it in Google Play (see Monthly subscription and Free trial);
  • Lifetime Premium: a single payment of 159.99 lei / €29.99, without a subscription (see Lifetime Premium).

Both options unlock the same content. There is no yearly plan. We do not commit to adding any particular number of new games; those we add are included in Premium.

The prices above include VAT. The final price is the one Google Play shows in your currency, before you confirm payment; in other countries it may differ because of local taxes and the exchange rate.

At each launch, Lulla Kids asks the Google Play app on the phone what purchases your Google account has and unlocks Premium if you have it, including on a new phone or after reinstalling, with the same Google account. If Premium does not appear, use Restore purchases in the grown-ups' area.

Monthly subscription

  • Price: 25.99 lei / €4.79 per month. The price includes VAT; the final price is the one Google Play shows in your currency, before you confirm.
  • Payment: you buy and pay through Google Play, with the payment method in your Google account. Google processes the payment; we do not see or receive your card details.
  • Automatic renewal: the subscription renews automatically every month, and Google Play charges you for the following month, until you cancel it in Google Play.
  • Cancellation: at any time, in Google Play. The steps are under Cancelling the subscription.

You can see the date of the next payment at any time in Google Play, under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. If a monthly payment fails, Google Play may ask you to update your payment method; if the payment is not made, Premium stops.

Free trial

New subscribers get the first 7 days of the monthly subscription free.

  • Who gets it: Google Play decides who is eligible, for example Google accounts that have never had a Lulla Kids subscription. You can see what applies in your case in the Google Play payment window, before you confirm. Google Play may ask you for a valid payment method to start the free trial.
  • After the free trial: if you do not cancel, at the end of the 7 days Google Play charges the first month, and the subscription costs 25.99 lei / €4.79 per month (the final price is the one Google Play shows) and renews automatically every month until you cancel it in Google Play.
  • If you cancel before the end: you pay nothing, and Premium stays active until the end of the free trial.
  • Reminder: if you have turned on the parent notifications, you get a reminder before the end of the free trial, but only on the phone on which you started it in the app. The reminder is scheduled by the app on the phone, not sent by us. You do not get it if notifications are off, on another phone or after you reinstall the app, so do not rely on it alone: you can see the date of the first payment at any time in Google Play, under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Cancelling the subscription

You can cancel the subscription at any time, without giving a reason and at no cost, in Google Play:

  1. open the Google Play app and tap your profile picture;
  2. choose Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions;
  3. choose Lulla Kids, then Cancel subscription.

Or go straight to the Google Play subscriptions page. In the app, the Manage subscription button in the grown-ups' area takes you straight to the Lulla Kids subscription in Google Play.

  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. Premium stays active until the end of the period already paid for or of the free trial, then the app goes back to the 18 free games. Your child's progress stays on the phone.
  • Cancelling does not automatically refund the month already paid for. For refunds, see Refunds.
  • Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in Google Play.

Lifetime Premium

  • Price: a single payment of 159.99 lei / €29.99, through Google Play. The price includes VAT; the final price is the one Google Play shows in your currency. It is not a subscription and it does not renew.
  • What it unlocks: the same Premium as the subscription: all 500 games and lessons, plus those added later.
  • For which account: Lifetime Premium is tied to the Google account you bought it with. On another Android phone with the same Google account, you install the app and Premium is unlocked at launch; if it does not appear, use Restore purchases in the grown-ups' area. It cannot be moved to another Google account.
  • What “lifetime” means: Premium stays unlocked without further payments for as long as you use Lulla Kids on an Android device with the Google account you bought it with. It does not refer to your lifetime or your child's. If we ever decide to stop offering or updating the app, we will tell you at least 12 months in advance, on the site and in the update notes on Google Play.
  • If you already have a monthly subscription: the subscription does not stop on its own when you buy Lifetime Premium. Cancel it in Google Play so that you no longer pay monthly.

This definition does not limit the rights the law gives you for digital content you have bought, including those concerning its conformity (Government Emergency Ordinance No. 141/2021).

Refunds

Payments are processed by Google Play, so refunds are also requested through Google Play, under the Google Play refund policies. There you can find out how to request a refund and within what time limits.

You can also write to us at contact@getlulla.app, with the date of purchase and the order number from the confirmation email you received from Google Play. We look at every request and reply to you, but we do not promise refunds beyond those provided for by law and by Google Play's rules.

Your statutory rights remain unaffected. For example, if Premium is not in conformity, you are entitled to have it brought into conformity free of charge. If this is not possible, if we refuse, if we do not do so within a reasonable time or if the lack of conformity is serious, you are entitled to a price reduction or to terminate the contract and receive a refund, under the conditions of Government Emergency Ordinance No. 141/2021.

Right of withdrawal

As a rule, as a consumer you can withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, without giving any reason (Government Emergency Ordinance (GEO) No. 34/2014, which transposes Directive 2011/83/EU).

Premium is digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium and that you receive immediately after purchase. For such content, the law provides for an exception (Article 16(m) of GEO No. 34/2014): the right of withdrawal is lost once supply has begun, if:

  • you gave your prior express consent for supply to begin before the end of the 14 days;
  • you acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal;
  • you received, on a durable medium (for example by email), confirmation of the contract, which includes your consent and the acknowledgement above.

The purchase is made in the Google Play payment window, and you receive the order confirmation from Google Play, by email. If, at the time of purchase, you gave your consent and confirmed the above, the right of withdrawal no longer applies from the moment Premium was unlocked.

If these conditions are not met, the 14-day right of withdrawal remains. You exercise it by a clear statement sent to contact@getlulla.app or by requesting a refund through Google Play. We will acknowledge receipt of your statement by email, without delay, and will refund all payments made under that contract no later than 14 days after receiving it, through Google Play, using the same payment method.

You may use the model withdrawal form (Annex 1, Part B to GEO No. 34/2014), but you are not required to:

  • To: Lulla App, Romania, contact@getlulla.app
  • I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the supply of the following digital content: Lulla Kids Premium (monthly subscription / lifetime)
  • Ordered on: …
  • Name of consumer: …
  • Address of consumer: …
  • Signature of consumer (only if this form is notified on paper): …
  • Date: …

During the free trial you pay nothing, so you can opt out at any time by cancelling the subscription in Google Play before it ends. After the trial, the subscription costs 25.99 lei / €4.79 per month and renews automatically until you cancel it.

The exception concerns only the right of withdrawal. Your other consumer rights, including those concerning the conformity of digital content, remain unaffected.

Price changes

Prices for new purchases may change; the price that applies is the one Google Play shows when you confirm payment. Prices on the site are for reference only.

  • Monthly subscription: we may increase the price for existing subscribers only for objective reasons: changes in taxes (for example VAT), in Google Play's fees or pricing rules, in the exchange rate or in the costs of developing and maintaining the app. A new price applies to existing subscribers no earlier than 30 days after we announce it on the site, and only under Google Play's rules for subscription price changes: Google Play notifies you before the new price applies, and where its rules require it, the new price applies only if you accept it. If you do not agree, you can cancel at no cost before the new price applies.
  • Lifetime Premium: if you have already bought it, a price change does not affect you and you pay nothing more.

Children and parents

The app is made for children aged 1–6, but the contract is with you, the adult who installs it. Purchases are made through the Google account on the phone, of which you are the holder.

  • Children aged 1–2 play alongside a parent. At any age, you decide whether, when and for how long your child plays.
  • You choose the daily limit. The app shows you the World Health Organization's advice: no more than one hour a day at ages 2–4, and less is better; none under age 2. When time is up, the friends go to sleep, and an adult can give extra time. The limit helps you, but it does not replace an adult's attention.
  • The grown-ups' area is protected by a question for adults (a multiplication sum). It is a simple barrier, designed for young children, not a security system.
  • Notifications are for you only, are optional and stay off until you turn them on. None of them is addressed to the child.
  • To avoid purchases made by mistake, you can require authentication for every purchase in the Google Play settings.

The data about your child (name, age, what they like) is entered by you; it stays on the phone and, if you create an account, is also kept in it. Details in the privacy policy.

Changes to the app

The app changes over time: we add games, fix bugs, improve what already exists and adapt it to new versions of Android and to Google Play's rules. You receive updates from Google Play. Some are necessary for the app to work correctly and safely; if you do not install them, some features may stop working.

We may modify, replace or withdraw a game only to correct a mistake, to better suit it to the age it is intended for, to comply with the law or with Google Play's rules, or for safety reasons. Changes cost you nothing extra.

If a change negatively affects your access to or use of Premium in more than a minor way, we will inform you at least 30 days in advance, on the site and in the update notes on Google Play: what is changing, from when and what rights you have. If you write to us, we will also send you this information by email. You can terminate the contract free of charge within 30 days of being informed or of the change, whichever is later, and we will refund the part of the price corresponding to the period after the change, under the conditions of Government Emergency Ordinance No. 141/2021.

Using the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the app for your family, not for commercial purposes, on the devices on which Google Play allows you to install it with your account.

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent out or redistribute the app or parts of it (for example, the installation file, the games, the images or the sounds);
  • bypass purchase verification or unlock Premium without having bought it;
  • decompile the app or try to obtain its source code, except where the law expressly allows you to do so;
  • use the app or the site in breach of the law or of the rights of others.

If these rules are broken, we may take the measures the law allows us to take.

Intellectual property

The app and the site, including the names Lulla and Lulla Kids, the logo, the 50 Lulla friends, the illustrations, animations, sounds, music, texts, games and code, belong to Lulla App or are used by Lulla App under licence. They are protected by copyright law and, where applicable, by trademark law.

Under these terms you receive only the right of use described in Using the app. No other right is transferred to you.

The narrator's voice comes from your phone's text-to-speech engine. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC, and Android is a trademark of Google LLC.

Liability

What the app does not promise

Lulla Kids offers age-appropriate games and lessons. We do not promise medical, therapeutic or developmental results, for example that a child will talk, count or learn something by a certain age. The app is not a medical device and does not replace the advice of a doctor, a speech and language therapist or an educator. If you have questions about your child's development, hearing, sight or speech, talk to your paediatrician.

What we guarantee

Under Government Emergency Ordinance No. 141/2021, we are liable for the conformity of the app and of Premium: with these terms, with the description on Google Play and on the site and with the objective requirements laid down by law, including the updates needed for the app to remain in conformity, within the periods laid down by law. We cannot promise that the app will be free of errors on every phone, especially as the narrator's voice and payments depend on the phone and on Google Play; if a problem arises, you have the rights described above.

Limits

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • damage that was not foreseeable when you installed the app or made the purchase;
  • problems caused by the phone, the Android system, the text-to-speech engine or Google Play that are not attributable to us;
  • loss of data on the phone for reasons not attributable to us, for example after uninstalling the app, resetting the phone or clearing the app's data, because we do not have a copy of it;
  • events of force majeure.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to the person or harm to health, or in other situations in which the law does not allow such liability to be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms restricts your consumer rights that the law does not allow to be set aside by contract.

The site

The site (getlulla.app/kids) presents the app and is free. It has no accounts, forms or newsletter and does not set cookies. It is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA) and uses only Vercel Web Analytics, without cookies, for visit statistics. The rest of getlulla.app sets one functional cookie, LULLA_LOCALE, which remembers the chosen language; a browser that already has it also sends it to the site, but the site does not use it. Details in the privacy policy and, for the rest of getlulla.app, in the getlulla.app privacy policy.

  • The information on the site is general. Prices on the site are for reference only: the price shown by Google Play applies.
  • The site links to other parties' websites, for example Google Play or the World Health Organization. We are not responsible for their content.
  • You may read the site, link to it and quote it. You may not use it in ways that affect its operation or security, nor reuse its texts, images or mascots for commercial purposes without our consent.

Governing law and disputes

Governing law

These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer and live in a country other than Romania, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded to you by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country (in the European Union, Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, “Rome I”).

First, write to us

If something is not right, write to us at contact@getlulla.app. We try to resolve any disagreement amicably. This does not prevent you from turning at any time to a consumer protection authority or to the courts.

ANPC and alternative dispute resolution

As a consumer, you can contact the Autoritatea Națională pentru Protecția Consumatorilor (ANPC, the National Authority for Consumer Protection: anpc.ro). For alternative dispute resolution (ADR, “SAL” in Romanian), the competent body is the ADR unit within ANPC; applications are submitted on the reclamatiisal.anpc.ro platform.

If you live outside Romania, you can also contact the consumer protection authority in your country. For cross-border disputes within the European Union, the European Consumer Centre in your country can help you.

The courts

If we do not reach an agreement, disputes are settled by the courts that have jurisdiction under the law. If you are a consumer, you can also bring proceedings before the court where you live. If you live in another Member State of the European Union, you can bring proceedings before the courts there or in Romania, and we can bring proceedings against you only in the country where you live (Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms only for these reasons: a change in the law or in Google Play's rules, a decision by an authority, a change in the app's features, prices or offers, or the need to clarify wording. The version and the date of the last update are shown at the top of this page.

If a change significantly affects you, we will announce it on the site and in the app's update notes on Google Play at least 30 days before it applies. Changes required by law may apply sooner, if the law so requires. Changes to your disadvantage do not apply to Lifetime Premium already bought or to a subscription period already paid for; for the subscription price, see Price changes.

If you do not agree with the new terms, you can cancel the subscription in Google Play before the changes apply, at no cost, and you can stop using the app.

Contact

For questions about these terms, the app or a purchase, write to us at contact@getlulla.app. On the contact page you can find what is useful to tell us so that we can help you faster. Please do not send us data about your child, such as their name or photos.
